John,

The plate is a FredT 9# and the V-weight is a Halcyon 11#. What's an "Arrow" V-weight?

Rich,

Good ideas. Thanx

Fred,

Do you cast your V-weights so that they are thinner (than the one that I showed in my 2nd pic) between the plate and the band AND with the hole drilled out so that the band bolt is swallowed? Do you cast them in such a way that the plate can be tightened down all the way to the cylinders? What sizes do you offer?

And...

How are your P-weights attached? Would I have to drill a hole thru the channel? What sizes do you make? What's the heaviest P-weight that would fit in my plate?

I have what i believe is your second revision heavy plate...3/16" full size purchased 6/02. Here it is...

You might want to check with fredt for a v-weight and or a p-weight. Fred custom made a channel weight for use with my single tanks that fit in the channel of the plate and is designed to use a external STA or a STA-less wing. Fred also made my v-weight for my double tanks. He can make the v-weight to fit your tanks so you dont have any gap between the plate and tanks. I think my v-weight came out to around 9lbs. The p-weight you can make pretty easily yourself, just make sure you leave room for your wing nutsfor your doubles.

here is a do it yourself site for a p-weight

same site for a v-weight

If you want to use your same v-weight just trim some excees material from the weight where it sits on the bands so the plate sits flat on the tanks.

Would you post a pic of your FredT P and V weights?

Thanks,

SA

Sure thing, buy it wont be for a few hours as my wife is getting her pc up and running as we just moved.

The channel weight that fred made me will only work with single tanks as there is no place for the wing nuts.

Ill post some pics of the smaller p-weights i made myself. I also use a fredt heavyplate and have a few different p-weights laying around that were poured to go between the wing nuts.

Fred can custom make the v-weight to fit your doubles. If you notice mine is very thin where it goes between the bands and BP. This weight was originally made for another set of doubles that had very little room between the bands and BP. With my new doubles i could actually go thicker in the area of the bands for a little more weight as there is much more room between the bp and bands now.

Very nice! Thanks!

Tell me what is what in your first pic...looks like the top is a FredT V-weight and the next one down is his P weight. Is that right?

In the second one down...the first P-weight...are those holes for the band bolts to go thru and then tightened down with wingnuts?

SA

Nah...they must be molded in wingnuts. Looks like you bolt the Pweight in the channel witth bolts from the backside. So I gues that you could use it with or without an STA but you wouldn't be able to use it with doubles. Right?
