Omicron once bubbled...
Good luck with it - watch the RBT times on it. Be sure that it actually calculates the time, and just doesn't stay at :99. I started another thread about this problem actually...I'm curious to see if anyone else is having the problem.

Interesting, because I have two smart coms. One of them seems to do the right thing. The other one, my wifes, always reads 99 minutes of bottom time remaining. I took it back to the shop. (Though I had to go 2x b/c the first time, somehow it was my problem). I guess they are sending it back.

Is this problem common? When I spoke to the tech at scubapro he did not mention anything like that. I noticed if you download the dive to a pc, it also shows you the 99 minutes left even with < 700 lbs of air.

It seems to be common among the people I know that have purchased one - I am awaiting a new one from my LDS right now, and they will be sending the one I'm currently using back to Scubapro. I also called Scubapro and they didn't seem to have any idea...it's pretty weird.

Well i am happy to report that i have just arrived home from monterey and my smartcom worked great.I dont have an infrared device so i cant download nothing yet.My dives were at monestary and breakwater.I did everything from shallow to deeper dives and night dives. It worked like a charm.Ill keep my fingers crossed that it continues to work great.

Good to hear!

My friend that has had his replaced from the LDS has had nothing wrong with it since then - I'm hoping for the same!

Oh - downloading the data into your PC is a lot of fun - it really lets you review your dives in great detail. Take a look at infrared adapters on Amazon.com (Belkin makes a decent USB one) or you can find them cheaper on eBay brand new.

I made three dives on my smart com this weekend at Mermet and it worked perfectly, perhaps a little too good, I'm going to have to back off on the workload warning threshold.

I had the same problem with the workload threshold and am also gonna back mine off.Anytime i was at a leisure pace it stayed off but anytime i picked up the pace a bit or even swam into a slight current it was on.Seems pretty touchy or im badly out of shape and just an air hog....lol.

ditto;)

I just saw on an LDS web site that Uwatec has recalled a computer-there was no other info. It said 1,700 units were affected. There is no info on the Uwatec web site...

I think that was a different model than the SmartCom - I believe it had something to do with the cover on a SPG warping and making the needle stick, thus falsely displaying the tank pressure.
