Hi,

How often are eagle rays, frog fish, sea horses and octos sees diving around Utila? How does Utila match up against Bonaire? Thanks.

You are going to want to do both before you hang up your flippers.

In that Utila is more "recently discovered", do yourself a favor and get there before it is completely changed/ruined/spoiled by success.

Go to Utila, and go now. Bonaire will wait.

He's right, my bro spent a month in Utila last year. He said you have the Dive operators and then the locals. Still very underdeveloped, but great diving

My divemasters have reported all of those animals during the last week - not too bad considering we had some downtime due to Richard visiting us! The westerly wind has also blown in a number of Sargassum Frogfish in recent weeks as well. Today eagle rays, hawksbill turtle and dolphins.

Utila diving is similar to Roatan diving (lots of similar wall sites) at least at the sites we have been to. Bonaire is lots of shore diving, double reefs in the south no walls except "little wall", and Isle klein. All 3 are great places to dive as we hit at least 2 every year dividing our third trip between Little cayman, Cayman Brac, with next year gong to Turnifee if we can figure out how to get there without staying overnight in Belize city.

There is no comparsion, Bonire is number 1:dork2: You should join us on our 2011 trip DNY invades Bonaire, there are about 35 people going right now, and counting. Many of these people going have been ther 20-30 times if not more:shocked2:That has totell you something about the island And people.

Not a lot of big stuff off Bonaire though. We saw 3/4 on one dive off south Utila. Never saw an octo in a week of diving. But we only did 2 night dives and one was in an area where they most likely wouldn't be seen.

Snorkeling with six Whale Sharks made up for it though...lol

Question.........When was the last time you actually dove on Utila? Just curious.
