Thanks Jim. For your info regarding your Feb. trip, here is a very old post of mine that provides rainfall data for the Bay Islands:

At least in Feb. you are away from the very rainy months of Oct-Dec. Rain does not always mean bad diving conditions, but I don't think I would plan a Bay Islands trip for Oct-Dec. Based on the data, March is supposed to be the driest month, but this March in Utila we encountered a fair amount of rain and cloudy weather. You can play the averages, but you will never know what you will encounter in terms of weather.

By the way, I live in Alaska (Juneau). Where does your son live?

My son is stationed at Elmendorf in Anchorage. The fact that I am using my summer vacation slot to visit him and his wife next year locks my Utila trip into the annual Presidents week, store shutdown.
