We're all set to go in 3 weeks. Wives seem to found many things to do while the 3 guys are diving: horseback riding, reading a book, whale shark trip, Water Cay trip, and deprivation tank (sounds terrible to me). They are looking as forward to it as us divers! We're only there for a week.

We stayed at Utila Dive Ventures, a bit outside of town, and I only hopped across the bay into town one time, while the gf went 2X.

It is a very small, but colorful community. A visit to the Jade Seahorse is something the ladies probably would enjoy. I spent @ an hour talking to the artist who created that amazing "garden, structure", and found several very creative ideas that influenced some of my own home landscaping projects. There is not a lot of shopping on that short street, but there is horseback riding, snorkeling, partying and fishing, and of course laying in the sun.

As suggested above, bring a good bug repellent.

We would return to Utillla. We enjoyed the more relaxed pace of that island.
