My computer sets my altitude automatically. It will go to 14,000. I can tell what its set to as the altitude is displayed. It always rounds up. So if I am at 10,100 the display should read 11 for 11,000. We dive a couple lakes above 10,000. The water is ridiculously cold and I rarely go deeper than 35'. Going deeper means generally colder, and you see even less! I would take FL anytime. Heck even S. CA in a heartbeat!

Ron Frank: Which computer is it that you have? Mine does not work above 10,000 and I want to dive a mountain lake at above 11000 feet. If you own a computer that works up to 14000 feet then I would like to look into it.

my trimix computer (OSTC), not sold in USA, can set the atmospheric pressure to any value.
but you don't need a specific computer to dive in altitude.
just know the theory of decompression and adapt tables to the local pressure.

the computer is a tool, not a brain
