im am an alaskan diver and computers now days just cant be beat i use an oceanic data pro + and a scuba pro smart com both computers are very different and very easy to use

As far as cost

This is one of the few places I wont try to go cheap
 
Cochran Commander and Citizen Aqualand Duplex. For all the reasons stated above.

However, I don't let the computer take the place of planning my dive and diving my plan. I take the time and make the effort to plan my dives using The Wheel and having a slate with the plan with me. But if things get crazy (entangled in fishing line, unexpected current, having to 'lay low' until the predators leave), then the computer can help get me out of the water without fizzing like a shaken soda.
