The annual DAN report has statistics since 1970, although the first ones did not include Canada, I believe.
Gudu, I think in Canada it is province based.
In Quebec, FQAS website has a section devoted to it if I recall properly.
For Ontario you get it through the underwater council:

Not quite sure who would capture that for BC though.
