I have an unusual, but urgent request.

A friend was rafting on a local river a few days ago and lost his GoPro Hero 7 Black in the GoPro waterproof hosing in an upset. Later, one of the participants perished in a an unrelated accident. My fried had footage of her last hours and would like to provide that to the family as some measure of comfort. Because of the limited visibility and river structure, I am trying to evaluate the practicality and best strategy for a search.

If you have or had GoPro Hero 7 Black in the GoPro waterproof housing, would you please give me your best sense of its buoyancy?

I've heard "neutralish" but the details here change the search area from < hundred yards to miles ...

TIA

Sinks like a rock, or a feather?

Yes, on an Al handle. Duplicate on order for testing.

Like a rock without the float handle. Even moreso if it had an aluminum one.

I've lost/recovered mine at least 4 times from the bottom...
