Upper keys - need reco and dive buddy

I am looking to dive on Monday May 18 or Friday May 22 in the upper florida keys.
Could someone help with a recommendation on where to go, dive operator and how I can find a buddy?

I have not been there yet, but all my research indicates that Rainbow Reef might be a good option. They have a free 'dive guide', if you ask. During phone conversations with them, they indicated that if I couldn't hook up with a buddy on the boat, the dive guide would suffice.
