40'' with an angled adapter (not a swivel...) is fine for your primary.

He has a Primary and an Air 2. No octo (ie. secondary). His backup secondary is the Air 2 (Octo-Inflator Combo).
He's asking to lengthen his primary to accommodate the loss of a octo.
Sorry my bad I personally hate that setup because your giving up your primary to breath on a secondary imho in an emergency situation that could get scary
