Well why not just give the secondary then and lengthen the secondary

He has a Primary and an Air 2. No octo (ie. secondary). His backup secondary is the Air 2 (Octo-Inflator Combo).
He's asking to lengthen his primary to accommodate the loss of a octo.

Sorry my bad I personally hate that setup because your giving up your primary to breath on a secondary imho in an emergency situation that could get scary

Exactly. My wife and I practice in the pool and while it works we almost have to be in each others face (not that I mind that usually, but coming up from depth and a 3 minute safety stop ....) I was just thinking that if I lengthen the primary hose, then we have a little more room.

OBTW, I'm fine using the Air2 with our practice. There have been times that I switched to the Air2 for a few minutes while at depth just to make sure there hasn't been any unforeseen issues that come up.

I use a 40" and a 90 elbow. When combined with a flex (Dive Gear express flex or Miflex) type hose I have never found the need for a swivel. 40" seems good but I could see where a 44" or 48" might give a bit more separation without much difference. Also, I got mine in yellow to help remind my buddy that I donate my primary and possibly reduce some confusion. I like the DGX flex hoses a bit better, seem to be just as flexible and not a rough.

I use the DGX setup but with a 48 hose under the arm snd right angle swivel. Very streamlined and easy to deploy ad 48" give especially lots of room. Like it better than the 7 foot hose for rec diving.

jringold, I don’t dive with an AIR2 any longer but when I did I used the longer hose, right angle adaptor and a brass snap bolt. If you are diving the Air2 that is the way to go and don’t worry about people telling you that you are wrong. It works fine as long as you practice.
