Updated AL Legend

The AL buyer guide for 2008 states - “Beginning in early 2008, the Legend series of regulators will undergo a restyling all models will sport bright chrome accents and a new front cover design.”

Does anyone have one of the restyled models yet? I bought my Legend today and its the old one, when I mentioned I'd like the newer one, I was told they won't have it till end of July. July is mid 2008 last time I checked.

whats different about it? it appears to only be cosmestic changes.

looks better than that "gold pimp ring" though. of course the supreme had the silver ring beforehand.

I'm betting that your LDS just hasn't ordered new inventory until they sold the old ones out. If they order the new ones, then everyone will want those instead and they will have to discount the old ones.

If they are really not available until July, what will be interesting is that will Leisure Pro get them before most of the new dive shops?

The LDS owner said he called AL and they told him they couldn't ship him one till July basically. For all I know he could be lying but you never know.

Well I have the new one and I bought mine in March here in Oz. They didn't have the Legend Octopus though so I had to get the old style LX occy

Why oh why wouldnt you want one with gold? Its got to breath better!!! Only diamond studded ones breath better.

I received one of the aforementioned gold "pimp ring" AL legend LX regs, after having been told that I was going to get the silver one... does anyone know if this trim can be replaced so I can have the less bling-y chrome/silver look instead? The owner's manual didn't come with a parts diagram, and I can't find anything on line.

You could have bought the AL Legend LX Supreme. It cost about $15 more and comes with the "Silver Pimp Ring" But looks like all the new ones will come that way now....

Aqualung would never publish their parts catalog online.

The part number for the "Silver Pimp Ring" is 129171 Retaining Ring, Silver.

Any AL dealer should be able to order it for you.

Like I said, Aqualung would never publish their diagrams online. I wouldn't know where you could find something like that...
