In my last Alona Beach wireless update I had just purchased a Globe modem as the Smart connection was deplorable at best. Their connection cuts in and out coupled with "0" periods of download and upload speeds.

Well the Globe connection is stable but is a "GPRS" connection not a 3G and I am 0.8 km from the cell towers? The speed is equal to dial-up and very slowwwww.

Bottom line is they both suck for different reasons and I recommend you don't spend your money on either of them. Your better off going to an internet cafe or using your laptop at the resorts wi-fi connection if they have one.
