 Does anyone have ideas on (jersey) uplines and how to connect to rig? Whats the best line material? I'd like to make my own.

The way I do it is to band it to the back of my doubles with either surgical tubbing or tire intertubes. Works for me.

You're on a wreck at 250fsw in a stiff current. It's time to turn and you have a problem and can't get back to your upline. There is another team that you know is probably on the line, say with an hour to go before they can make the surface.

The boat can't chase you. You deploy a bag with a jersey line, tie off to the wreck and, voila, you now have a new upline. Jersey lines are heavy enough to stand the stress of you and your buddy fluttering in the current for a couple of hours and are made of a biodegradable material so that they then can be abandoned to decompose and not clutter up the site.

Otherwise, bring you may need your passport. Not an elegant solution, but I'm told that it works...

Yeah, you do that with a reel and lift bag and do your part with buoyancy too. It works just fine, and the reel is also used for penetration. Nothing too complicated.
