I have seen a few of these tiny animals swimming in open water a few miles off the Southern California coast. I can't find them in any of my books. They have a yellow star on one end and a swimming fin on the other. Could it be a polyp stage of a larger animal? Sorry for the poor images. Screen grabs from video in bad vis.
