About 11 peeps from all over the place met up tonite for a lovely night dive in Union Lake. Jim comes from Ypsi, Chad from Lansing, and the rest are local yocals. A few old and a few new. My buddy (Jim) and I were the 2nd group in. We followed one of the guys for a little and eventually he zoomed off. I hoped it was in search of his buddy. We inspected 2 of the boats down there and headed out on the West Line. We had a leisurely stroll to about 45ft seeing absolutely nothing but sand. I knew the entire time that we should enjoy the moment as it wouldn't last long. There is absolutely nothing on that line and it goes forever. We turned, headed back and not too long after we saw what appeared to be X-File type lights in front of us. They were everywhere. I gingerly weaved my way through, never loosing sight of the line. My buddy did an around about and met me in the thick cloud of silt. It was amazing. He is the best buddy in the world to not loose me in that mess. One of the guys was attracted to my pink gear (like a moth to a flame) and decided he wanted to be our buddy. We traveled for a few in 3ft vis, saw the boats again, headed a little west into the grass...turned around...went back to the boat....asked my bud what he wanted to do...he shrugged his shoulders. I said to myself.."What happened to my buddy's bubbling personality???" Then, to my right, a light appeared....I saw the Pinnacle emblem on his suit and I squealed MY BUDDY!! Who was this guy next to me???? Anyhoo, we did a casual swim North toward the Dock. Found the Skull/Crossbones in about 19ft sitting in 4ft weeds, did our safety stop kneeling in the 4ft weeds...and came out right in front of the dock. Everyone of us made it out in one piece. I would say a very successful dive. It was 3 of the guys first night dives and I am very proud of them! 45ft 40 min 47f
