I just bought a Northern Diver CNX 2-RI. I've been pondering the merits of purchasing an undersuit, and was looking at the their Flectalon undersuits.

Most of my drysuit diving will be in 38 - 55 degree water, and I want something I can use most of the time.

Should the 200 work ok? In the higher end I could just wear a layer of polypro, and in the lower end I could wear another layer if needs be. Should I maybe look at the 100 instead?

Would like to hear more on this as well.

I am looking for an undergarment. The powerstretch materials look nice and well..... stretchy. But will they keep ya warm in 53 degrees?

What is the thickness difference between the 100 polartec vs, the 300 polartec garment?

LP has directed many to the Cabela's VERY affordable alternatives, but what weight is the "Military weight" polartec?

Would like to hear more on who uses what.

If you're looking at the Flectalon, you should be able to get away with the 200 weight. The 300 will cook you in 55°f water.
You'll probably be OK in the 200 for water as warm as 60°-65°
With a layer of heavy military arctic polypro (not Polartec) underneath the 200, it'll be good for the 40° areas.
I have a list of some online sources for the military surplus goodies, even found a lightweight union suit polypro supplier.
For the military surplus 2-piece, get the TALL size tops to make sure there's plenty to tuck in the bottoms.
