I'm looking at a Bare XCD2 (2mm compressed neoprene) drysuit and was wondering whether Bare's Super Hi-loft Extreme undergarment (500gm/m2 thinsulate torso with 250gm/m2 arms and legs) would be too warm for water temps in the mid 40's. Maybe the Regular Hi-loft (250g/m2 thinsulate all over) would be better. I would describe myself as a cold water wimp.
Thanks!

I don't know much about that particular undergarment, but I would go for the warmest you can get. You may even want to wear under armour under it or the military spec fleece. It may be warm on the surface, but once at depth you'll be happier. I wouldn't want to go too light on the garment, the 250 will be warm, but may not be enough. That is something that you would have to dive and learn. Everyone is different when it comes to cold tolerance. Good luck in making your decision.

I haven't a clue about the Bare undergarments, but I wear the Pinnacle Merino-Evolution undergarment in 40ish water. That thing is 100g thinsulate, plus 250g Fleece, plus 300g Merino Wool. I preferred wearing a polypro (or underarmor) shirt and tights under it and was very comfortable.
