Awesome! I think those are pilot whales, right? Those are the type that took that snorkeler to depth (using its mouth) that was caught on video. The woman lived but said she wasn't going to snorkel again (somewhere else - not Hawaii).

I saw that!

The sensationalist media was calling it an 'attack.' Looked to me like 'inappropriate play.' The pilot whale grabbed her ankle (loosely) and was slowly pulling her down. As soon as she freaked, it not only let go of her, it kinda 'pushed' her to the surface.

I think it was just playing with her, and didn't know her limits. She just got some scratches on her ankle. If the pilot whale intended harm, I'm sure it could have.

But that's just my opinion...

That incident was off Kona numerous years back. I know people who know crew from the boat. The interview with her I heard (a few years back on one of the sensational -when animals attack- shows) was cool, she said something to the effect that she thought she was gonna die and the whale looked at her and immediatley took her back to the surface. I think she said she thinks it was playing also.
