Methinks I got a factory second or an unfinished Genesis Recon.
There is absolutely no padding on the shoulder straps at all. The straps cut into the shoulders and are really uncomfortable. Any Recon users out there with either a similar problem or is this abnormal. Thanks, Brad

No.. that's about par for the course on the Recon... They do not sell them as "Genesis Recon - when comfort counts!" They are so uncomfortable - we don't carry them anymore. Did you try it on in the shop with a tank before you got it??

Heeer'es My sign. Bought it online, selling it online, thanks, Brad

I have one and have no problems in terms with comfort and it cutting where it is not supposed to....the key is to have it fit you properly and then it fits like a glove.

I used to use a Recon extensively and I'll second the proper fit comment. I normally used it with a 7mm wet suit or drysuit but on several occassions used it in nothing more than a 3mm shorty or a t-shirt and never had any issues with comfort. I also used it extensively with the optional backplate and doubles and it was still comfortable even with 75lbs of tanks and weights attached to it.

The shoulder strap and waist strap adjustments make a big difference, so don't condem it until you have experimented a bit with it.

Comfort is also relative. My Recon is without a doubt more comfortable than my BP and harness, but not too many people who use BP/wings complain about comfort.
