I just watched a video on Scubatoys.com (scubadivingtube.com) with which I have difficulty. The name is "One star dive traning" (that's the way it's spelled, too), and it features an adult male "teaching" a small boy diving skills...at depth and on the adult's octo.

Anybody else have issues with this, or am I just a fuddy-duddy?

Count me in the fuddy-duddy category. Whatever the case, there's something about this video that smacks of a newly certified diver dad informally instructing his son. Regardless of the dad's experience level, cert cards don't automatically increase one's common sense.

It does not look to be very deep, but clearly this guy is a total idiot. 'Teaching' mask clearance too. I am tempted to sign up to the site just to leave a derogatory message.

Count me into the fuddy-duddy brigade.

Some people just don't seem to get the idea that scuba diving is a sport that can kill them or others when common sense safety protocols aren't followed. Were something to have happened to that kid on his "training" dive I think a negligence charge would be in order against the adults present. :bash:

this guy is a freaking jack-in-a-box...what a moron. in 10 seconds i came up with a list too long to write of potential problems with what he is doing...people like him need to go down and not come back up...which is more than likely with a diver like him...

Sad to say it looks like another STATISTIC waiting to happen. Very Sad
