Nuweiba Dive Sites
South to North

Ras Abu Galum
These dives are offered as a full day out, with 2 or 3 dives. There is the opportunity to make 3 different dives here, or combine the day out to include one dive in Ras Mamlah. South Ras Abu Galum is a wall dive, with beautiful schools of fish, stunning soft and hard corals and the unique Red Sea Black Coral. The North Ras Abu Galum dives are on sloping Coral Gardens, with numerous Table Corals and Brain Corals, and are home to Crocodile Fish, Scorpion Fish and Turtles. All of these dive sites offer the chance to spot big things passing by in the blue! The Bedouin camp here serves delicious freshly caught fish and other Bedouin specialties, and for families and those with a sense of adventure, a one and a half hour camel ride takes you to the Blue Hole in Dahab. These sites are also well known to technical divers, where the landscape at depth is spectacular.
Ras Mamlah
Ras Mamlah is the most northerly dive within the Abu Galum National Park area. This is one of our highlights, and is well worth the almost one and a half hour jeep ride. There is a Southern and Northern dive here, so we take the chance to spend the day, and enjoy the beauty of the desert between the dives. On the Southern dive, after entry over a sandy slope and short reef table, you follow a coral slope to a beautiful wall. There is a Canyon on 35 meters, numerous Nudibranches, Scorpion Fish, Shells and Crabs, a huge Eel Garden in 5 meter shallow water, and even the occasional Eagle Ray passing by! This site also has beautiful black coral. On the Northern site, you snorkel over the reef table to dive on a stunning wall with colorful corals and numerous different fish, Shells and Clams. With us, Ras Mamlah is a famous site for Tech Diving with a coralised plateau on 50 plus meters, Chimneys, and a second canyon on 40 meters, and for our 2 or 3 day ‘Ras Mumlah Camp’.
El Hibeq South
With a speed boat you can access the southern part of El Hibeq for a shallow dive on the 5 pinnacles, which form a large circle. Care must be taken between these pinnacles, where visibility is normally restricted. The Pinnacles offer home to Moray Eels and a number of different fish and coral.
El Hibeq North
El Hibeq North is dived to 30 meters, where the wide variety of Red Sea soft and hard Corals are seen in abundance. This site offers home to Crocodile Fish, Stone Fish and Scorpion Fish. In the sand and sea grass, you can also find an Eel Garden.

Myserique
This beautiful site offers 2 dives over a sandy plateau and stunning ravines. The start of both dives follows the sandy coral covered slope on a gradual decent to 10 meters. This entry sees pristine, unbroken Table Corals, Brain Corals and Fan Corals, which are home to a multitude of small fish, crabs and shrimps. There are often Sepia, Octopus and free swimming Moray Eels in this area. From here, you reach a series of ravines on the ocean floor, to a maximum depth of 30 meters, whose walls are covered in beautiful soft and hard coral, and where a large Napoleon can often be found.
House Reef
Only 5 minutes from African Divers Nuweiba, this is a beautiful dive on a coral garden. Here it is possible to find Scorpion Fish, Stone Fish and magnificent Crocodile Fish, as well as large schools of fish and some beautiful hard corals.

The Sinkers
On the back of House Reef, you have the chance to dive a stunning mooring buoy suspended 8 to 12 meters under the surface of the water. During the Israeli occupation of the Sinai in the 1970’s, this huge buoy was accidentally placed in water 10 meters deeper than the 25 meter long mooring chains. In the years since, this buoy has become a center for a huge variety of different marine life. We slowly circle the chains on the buoy, where there is an abundance of soft corals and Shrimps, slowly ascending into the clouds of Glass Fish, Damsels and Fusiliers circling the buoy. Out in the blue around the buoy you can see large Jackfish and Snappers hunting. On the buoy itself, there are many different soft corals, and an incredible number of things to see.
Pipeline
This dive begins close to 2 pipelines, where it is possible to find the rare Frog Fish. After exploring these coral covered pipes, you can move onto a coral garden. This area contains a number of beautiful Pinnacles, one of which is surrounded by Glass Fish, and also offers the chance to find Moray Eels.
MFO North
This dive site, a quick jeep ride from African Divers Nuweiba, also offers a large variety of marine life, to a maximum depth of 20 meters. The reef wall descends to 6 meters, where a sandy slope, sea grass and numerous pinnacles offer the opportunity for exploration.
Sha’ab Elaria
Our stunning house reef is accessed over the reef table, requiring care to protect the aquatic environment. The dive that ensues is, however, well worth the effort. With the best the Red Sea has to offer in aquarium like conditions, you can find Octopus, Sea Horses, Sepias, Nudibranches, Stingray and many more. The large areas of sea grass even offer the chance to find a Dugong grazing! The colorful and varied corals are sure not to disappoint.

Swisscare House Reef
The Swisscare Hotel’s house reef offers a huge variety different reef fishes, Moray Eels and Octopuses, just like Sha’ab Elaria, the African Divers Nuweiba house reef. The Swisscare house reef has an easy entry point as the main reef table is interrupted all the way through to the sandy beach. This dive site offers a large choice of hard and soft corals and an especially big population of Nudibranches. Even the famous ‘Spanish Dancer’ is often seen here, and we quite regularly dive alongside big turtles which travel between the MFO and Swisscare.

El Huwei
El Huwei is one of the most southern of the Nuweiba ‘barrier reefs’. The reef has a number of fissures and chimneys with beautiful soft and hard corals and some beautiful, large Table corals. There is also the chance to see many different species of baby fish in large schools, and Glass Fish in the crevices. This dive can be done as both a beautiful shallow or deep dive.

Um Um Raicher
This is a beautiful shallow dive over both pinnacles and a reef with numerous fissures and chimneys. You begin over an area of sea grass, progressing from one pinnacle to another until you reach the first reef area. You can move through this reef to dive between two reef walls, searching in the many crevices and chimneys for Octopus, baby Barracuda, and sepia, and watching the pelagic fish hunting. You can return to the same point as you entered, or can make this dive as a drift down to El Huwei, when the current is behind you.
T-Reef
The T-Reef is a continuation of Ray Hole in a southerly direction. This dive is normally done by boat. The dive is made on a pinnacle dotted sandy plateau, which is home to both Blue and Black Spotted Stingray, to a maximum depth of 40 meters.
Ray Hole
Ray Hole is accessed over the reef table, requiring careful entry. The reward however makes this very worthwhile. This is a beautiful dive over a stunning and colorful landscape, to a maximum depth of 40 meters. The reef here contains a number of fissures, and offers the chance to see octopuses! The on site Bedouin camp serves both food and drinks.
Al Ma’agana
Al Ma’agana has an easy entry by shore to two dive sites. Both enter over a large area of sea grass, the home to many Sea Cucumbers and Sea Horses. Al Ma’agana to the left is categorized by large numbers of anemones, and pinnacles on this sandy slope. A small canyon on 27m offers a nice swim through. Al Ma’agana to the right offers sandy plateaus to 40 meters, and a colorful reef wall to 16 meters. Refreshments can be purchased at the Bedouin camp on site.
Rock Sea
Rock Sea is accessed by a short snorkel over the reef table, where you descend to 6-7 meters. Following the sandy slope and coral garden down to 20 meters, you find a beautiful drop off, allowing you to dive to over 30 meters. Here, you can find schools of Basslets, Angelfish and numerous groupers. Most spectacular are the caverns and fissures in the reef wall, and the covering of soft and hard corals.
Angelfish
On this dive you can visit a small cave and several small canyons, progressing to a maximum depth of 40 meters. The sand plateau has small pinnacles offering home to a variety of Nudibranches, Moray Eels, and both the blue and black spotted Stingray.
Ras Shaitan (Devils Head)
Ras Shaitan, which translates as Devils Head, is a beautiful reef with numerous anemone fish, shrimps and Nudibranches to attract your attention. The sandy plateau has large areas of sea grass, and some beautiful table corals. You can also find the rare red anemone, green anemone and blue anemone, and it is possible to see both Rays and Sharks passing by in the blue! This is a really stunning dive, and for the Deep Divers out there, offers some stunning pinnacles and pristine coral at 40 plus meters.
Dolphin Bay
Dolphin Bay is the Taba Steigenberger Hotel’s house reef. This is a stunning shallow dive to a maximum depth of 12meters. The reef houses a multitude of coral and fish, with the possibility to find octopus amongst the crevices. In this calm lagoon you will also find large areas of Sea Grass, where the eagle eyed can spot Sea Horses!
Bawaki
This shore dive offers easy entry to the water, and a beautiful dive to a maximum depth of 40 meters. It is possible to see, in addition to the beautiful corals and fish, the engine of an old fishing boat. Sadly the rest of the wreck has been washed away. Pre and post dive refreshments can also be found in the Bawaki Camp!
