It is time for my tanks to get their annual VIP and cleaning.

My LDS charges $30 to VIP and O2 clean my tanks and valves. Maybe they charge $35/tank.

I've got five tanks and that adds up.

O2 cleaning the tanks is easy. Cleaning the valves is obviously the hard one. The LDS uses an ultrasonic cleaner.

They are not cheap, but $170 a year will be recovered before too long.

I want to clean my own tanks and, don't tell anyone, VIP them myself.

Any suggestions on what size and brand Ultrasonic cleaner to get?
:coffee:

Will your nitrox provider fill your tanks based on your doing the O2 cleaning?

So a 2.5L model is large enough?

$80 seems reasonable. I had been finding a lot at $350.

I can put an entire USD double hose reg in at one time. Plenty of room for a first stage and 1 second of a single hose reg. You should be able to get several valves in at once although you might not want to mix the parts.

I am using an older version of this one. - Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

I needed the larger size due to cleaning old double hose regs which are considerably wider than modern regs so I would think you could use the smaller one.

That and simple green (or BlueGold) will clean anything better than most LDS's do...
