Anybody know if there is an operating dive resort on the Island of Ulithi in Micronesia? It is very close to Yap

Thanks

I highly doubt it, and have never heard of one. I know some divers that are planning a trip there but no diving is involved. You have to get permission from the Chief to visit Ulithi, and there is no scheduled airline. I believe the only way in is to catch a ride with the missionary airplane, and I'm not sure there's any place to stay. Guam Rider probably knows a bit more about this, I'll see if I can head him over this way.

Hi, a few years ago there actually was an active dive shop there and a very small hotel. The dive shop has closed in the hotel presently needs some repair on it. The reason I know this is Iran into the owner who was here on Guam a few weeks ago and we talked about bringing divers out there again, but I doubt that that will happen.

Ulithi is 125 miles east of Yap and Pacific Missionary airlines flies there twice a week weather permitting. As Deep Water Dan said you have to get a permit to go out there but no one's ever been turned down. It's just a formality.

I have the hotel owners e-mail address so if you PM me and I'll send it to you.

There is one of 3 videos we did on Ulithi here:
