Here goes another basic upgrade, practically not much to do...

I ordered CR2 from China, and it took 3 weeks to get it, it was cheap, less than $10, and a shipping was free

It is a slightly smaller in diameter than SL4 light drop in module so I had to use a spacer made of 8mm tall piece of 1" plumbing pvc. Sanded from the inside and then Gooped the pipe piece on CR2 module. Threw away the spacer spring that came with it and just soldered a wire between the outer body of the CR2 module and a brass conductor so that there will be no uncertainty that the connection is there. Batteries in SL4 must be placed in reverse polarity so that the nipple of the last one sticks out and not its rear end. This is it.

The weird thing about CR2 module is that it has 5 modes: 2 dimmed, one bright, one crazy strobe blinking, and one blinking beacon. The switch between modes happens like if you would switch a dial - every next on-off will power it in the next mode. Original SL4 switch does this job fairly well. I estimate the light power of somewhat above 100 lumen. On a picture it is shown next to original SL4 spot. Any way, the original SL4 MOD is 500', and burntime 4hrs, the last would be to test w/new LED module. I use 4 Powerizer size C 5A rechargeable batteries to power it up, 4.8 V. Perhaps disposable batteries will be brighter a little bit.

BTW it is brighter than upgraded LED 3W Photon Torpedo (AFAIK LED Scout is in the same category)
