Do you have any opinions between the UK Sun Light C8 (2 times 13W halogen), UK Sun Light D8 (2 times 14W halogen), or the UK Light Canon 100 (10W HID)

The price difference is substantial; I am just wandering about other peoples experience with any of these…

p.s. just to mention my choice is limited to one of these 3 lights

Thanks....

The light canon HID is a great light. You gotta be careful not to break that $100 bulb (don't drop or bang around that light). When off the shore we were guided in by the glow of my other buddy's Light Cannon one night off in the distance. I really love that light.

love my light cannon, but there are those who hate them...it puts out more light than any other non-cannister light out there, and not just a little more..

I have the sunlight c8 and am very happy with it. Plenty of light for ow diving.

I have experience with all three ...

Sun Light C8 - This is a great light for the price, but if you have the budget, get the rechargable version. It comes with one bulb at a higher wattage than the non-rechargable version (18W x 13 W, I believe), and gives you substantially more light on the high beam setting. The price is roughly the same as a non-rechargable Light Cannon.

Sun Light D8 - A bright light, but what a huge thing to be carrying around with you. Considerably more expensive than the C8, with not a whole lot more light to offer. And the beam is wider than the C8, which means more backscatter when diving in turbid water.

Light Cannon - An awesome light for the price. About the only downside is that replacement bulbs are rather expensive.

The D8 is huge, the Light Cannon has fragile expensive bulbs.

The C8 is cheap, reliable, and 'good enough' for most things.

The Shockwave LED is IMO *the* handheld light to get at the moment.

I picked up a D8 for $60 new at Sports Chalet, but then thought about the cost of 8 D batteries to fuel it. So I went to Radio Shack and bought a NiCad charger and 8 NiCad D Size batteries. So far all seems well with it. But as Grateful stated, it is a bit bulky.
