So I've done some more research on computers and now I'm even more mired down.

I have a budget of $800 which should be doable if I go used, which I have no problem with.

I would like a wrist mounted unit with freediving options because I will also be freediving. I would like AI wireless ability as well.

So for wireless AI computers:

Oceanic Atom 1.0, Atom 2.0, VT1, VT2, VT3
Suunto Vyper

Hose-mounted SPG computer for $150 or even a used Oceanic Pro Plus 2 for $350.

Ahhhhhh!!!

"If it doesn't fit in one of these mounts, it doesn't belong on your wrist." The bungee gives you redundancy, and they are the lowest profile mounts on the market. Personally I use a Uwatec Aladin Tech 2G. Although it doesn't have AI it is an awesome computer. I have an AI Uwatec Smart Z and found it just as easy to occasionally check my pressure gauge mounted on my hip.

I'm willing to bet that for $800 you cn get a brand new VT3 setup. Negotiation, negotiation, negotiation.

If I was to go wireless wrist computer which I will be purchasing By far for me the Uemis Zurich is awesome and one of the best out there. If your not interested in AI (Air Integration) Shearwater predator or Liquidvision X1 is also a really good computer. I dive the dataMask and love it. And will be adding the Zurich SDA to my arm.

I love my Smart Tec and Galileo Sol! :mooner:

If you buy for the future today you and computers may change your mind by the time it comes to tomorrow.

I have an imperial Scubapro EDI with single boot for sale for the same price
free postage.

Very good.

The Atom 1.0 doesn't work with Oceanlog 2, and the version of Oceanlog that comes with the Atom 1.0 isn't really fully VISTA compatible. I don't recommend you get that.

There is an Atom 3.0 due out sometime fairly soon, from what I understand. If I were going to get an Atom 2.0, I'd consider waiting for an 'older model discount' type deal.

To narrow it down, compare a VT3 or Veo (if you don't need air integration) to an Atom 2.0 or Geo (if you don't need air integration), and decide whether the larger display appeals to you, or you just really like something the size of a watch display.

Get past that decision, and you'll have your form factor.

Then decide if wireless Air Integration is worthwhile.

Solve those 2 issues, and you'll narrow the field a lot.

Richard.
