i just got the ucl165 for the nauticam with 18-55 lens.

when i put it on there is a big black outline of the photo but when i zoom in it goes away.
does that mean i have to shoot at around 55mm?

yup...just zoom till it goes away.

I am having problems with getting clear photos at zoomed to 55mm. Any hints?

I have both, I prefer the subsee +10. The downside to the subsee +10 is that it is very heavy compared to the inon

Hello,
How do you attach these lenses to the port ? Does each have its own unique adapter ?

They are usually a 67mm thread. However not all ports have 67mm thread on them so you may need an adapter. Which port do you want to use?

I'm getting the kit lens and probably the flat port. I assume this won't work with the dome port ?

Flat port has the threads doesn't it?
I ordered a Subsee +10 yesterday from the States yesterday. Will give it a go in Komodo in 1 months time for all the very small critters.
