I had to share! Sorry, not trying to sound like an infomercial...

Normally, I'm lucky to get one scuba vacation a year (or longer). I'm so tired of spending money and time on Disney.

Wife gave the OK, and I've been driving for Uber/Lyft in my smallish town. Since it is extra income, I'm saving half of it for my next scuba vacation, sooner than expected! I'm thinking Honduras at CocoView. Even after taxes and saving for kids college, I'm 1/4 of the way to paying for the trip (including airfare) after 1 month!

I'm excited about Cinco De Mayo and the local brewfest this Friday and Saturday. I hope I can do 3x a normal weekend.

Sounds like a plan, whatever it takes!

Me? I married a former movie star that says she "bumped into" the Presdent. She's got tons of cash.

As for Disney, she's not interested.

Drive on, to CCV.

I was lucky of enough to have been spared Disney. Our kids got certified in 2009 and in 4 weeks we are taking a family dive trip to Grand Cayman. This trip will mark ten years of family dive trips. The one year before 2009 when I was prepared to bite the bullet and do the Disney thing, the kids said they would rather go to Arizona and the Grand Canyon. I consider myself very lucky. Good luck with your plans.

Glad it works for you, Jeff. Lots of folks forget to pay their self-employment taxes and don't really know what their operating costs for their cars are, and lots of folks find out driving a taxi (under any name) isn't that lucrative. Apparently in your town, it works for you. Just remember the tax man before you think you've won the lotto.
