I have three open spots on the Canned Air for an Oct 12th trip to the U853. We are planning two dives on the U853, or one on the U853 and one on the Black Point. I was out on the Canned Air a week ago and had a great time. A very good boat, fast, and has a friendly crew. The ladder is easy.

Please PM me if you are interested. Cost is $110 per diver and you can sleep
on the boat the night before. Full payment is required by Sept. 30th to confirm
your spot. Blowout results in full refund, although the Captain has final say
on destination due to weather.

We leave at 7 AM that morning. The boat is located in Pt Judith Marina,
dock C-50. Here are directions to PJM;
392 Gooseberry Rd # D, Wakefield, RI 02879

From Providence, RI take Route 95 South, Left-hand Exit to Rt. 4, Narragansett,
South Kingstown. Merge with Rt 1 South and follow for 10 mi. Exit “Snug Harbour,
East Matunuck”, Succotach Rd. Follow 5 mi. to fork. Bear left, Gooseberry Rd.
Follow 1 mi. We are on the left.

what is the website for the canned air?
I would like to go & see the boat first.
regards, PMD

Hre's a picture of the boat, hope that helps.

Hey Rick,

Sounds like a fun trip. Capt. G.'s boat is about the best in RI. I'd love to join you but I'll be in Truk at that time. Ya, it sucks, but someone has to do it:D.

It was good talking to you the other night. Great presentation. It would have been amazing to experience what Gary did on the "D" back then.

Have Fun and Dive Safe,

Dennis

Dennis,
You have suffered enough! I can't let you continue to sacrifice yourself in this way! I will therefore volunteer to take the burden of going to Truk in your place so that you need not miss the 853!!!

Yes, I know, it is a lot to do for someone I have never met, but that's the kind of guy I am! :D

Dennis,

Good seeing you and Harry as well. I enjoyed catching up with you guys and will be contacting you to go diving. You didn't mention Truk, hope you have a great trip.

Oct. is a busy month, so I'll contact you for some diving in early Nov. if you still have the boat in the water.

Rick

As of today, we filled the charter, pending receipt of payments.

Thanks to those who expressed an interest and contacted me. If you didn't make this trip, please contact me if you would like to try scheduling another date or I can keep you updated on future dives.

Thanks to Dennis(or wreckedinri), I'll also be trying to get to the Bass and Metis before mid November, weather permitting of course.

Thanks again for your interest,

Rick

Dennis you are going to have a ball! We are going back on the Truk Odyssey next
June for our third time. Hey Chris, if you read this, we have 2 spots open.....
There is only one small problem, I guarantee it will make you a Truk Junkie!

You are without a doubt the most selfless person that I know. To offer to help someone in such a way that you have not met - I did see you on Fran's boat once - is truly a noble act! But, alas I must bear the burden of flying halfway around the world myself. However . . . my lawn my need mowing while I am gone:D.

John,
I hope so. At first I was a bit hesitant about going due to the long arduous flight, but everyone that has been there tells me that it is more than worth the discomfort of the travel. I'll be in Yap for 7 days and Truk for 5. I wish it was the other way around as I prefer to dive wrecks.
