I have my Perdix (similar Idea to a slate) with 2 separate loops of bungee (for reasons of safety - should one go the other will hopefully remain intact) secured with a double fishermans knot. That way I can adjust the tension depending on what suit I am wearing.

Is it better to have a bungee compass or a compass/slate with a proper strap? I know there are pros and cons to each but what do you guys think?

Bungees are easier to put on, but straps offer more security?

I don't like 1 strap. If the 1 strap comes loose, undone, cut, etc you loose the item. at least with the double bungee you have both. Additionally Velcro can get undone easily.
