I just don't log dives
I have read the manual and searched here, and understand that oxygen-compatible grease is not required for the transmitter O-ring, but I have also seen conflicting opinions on whether it should be lubed at all...should it be lubed with silicone or left dry? I am speaking of the transmitter for the Atom 2, Vt-3, etc.

Second question: should the transmitter be installed "finger tight" or tighter. Again, I have heard conflicting opinions.

Thanks

Doug:

Thanks for the response. I had read the manual but contrary to what it says, the computers my family has (a mix of Aeris and Oceanic) all came with silicone instead of Christo-Lube and someone elsewhere printed a response from Oceanic service saying silicone was fine. I have seen others suggest that no lube was necessary.

As I think about it, it probably wasn't reasonable to ask an Oceanic rep whether to follow the advice in the manual or do something else :)
