Thanks for the comments everyone. Seems like most are comfortable doing two with a moderate amount of extra conservatism. Helpful in thinking through what my rule will be.

I meant to put this in an earlier post, but couldn't find the link.

This is essentially why we want to limit our exposures:

I'm not actually sure which I'd prefer - being run over while on deco or aboard while colliding with one of those. Apparently they didn't even notice they had hit another ship. Also: yay, a new wreck! :D

I have done multiple 200+ ft dives in a day, without concern. For the OC diver, its a logistics problem more than anything else - you need to bring two full sets of tanks, or mix on the boat, or be close to the dive shop. That's a lot of hard work, and I prefer now to do one extra long dive instead.

Laurin, I have always wondered - for DIR practitioners who use ratio deco only - how does one deal with repetitive dives?

As long as the SI is at least 90 minutes, we don't adjust the profile at all. If it's less than 90 minutes, we double the stop times. It's never been a problem in our group because between dives we are generally gas blending, eating, and hydrating. Our typical SI has been 3 - 4 hours, unless we has gases ready to go for the second dive. I'd do a third dive in a day, but logistics usually prevent that. Usually we'll clean up on O2 on the last dive of the day.

I've done it, but fatigue from a mental error and decompression sickness risk POV makes me not anxious to make a habit out of it.

Its worth noting here there is a big difference between doing 2 300'+ dives in a day and doing multiple 150' dives in a day. It really all just depends on the dive profiles being done.

Right, which is why I limited the q to 30-45mins of deco. That's a pretty short dive to 300'.... Was thinking more in the 150-170 range.

2 tec dives a day above 200ft with at least 3-4 hours SI.
