I didnt expect this to be so funny to be honest with you all.

Chumming...!

And thanks for the link about the dive school. Much appreciated

Actually, Terrific, if you get really, really good at it, you can take your reg out, spew, and put it back in. . . .

Sorry - for some, it is our cross to bear that we can't stand more than two foot seas, even after heavy anti-seasick meds.

However! The fish just love you. Especially if you had fruit like mango and orange for breakfast . . .

"Not only is "that" not right, it's just plain wrong!"

"It is not cheating to look up the facts before posting, BS!"

Its got to be worth getting really drunk the night before, not taking any anti seasick meds just to see if I take the reg out, chuck up, then shove the reg back in. Might have to pratice in the bath tub first, I dont think the missus will be too happy if I do it in the pool.

No no no no no. Drinking and diving don't mix, hangovers and diving don't mix. Hangover means dehydration, dehydration means increased risk of DCS. So that little stunt might get you a ride to the chamber.

Diving with a hangover... the hangover leaves you as you descend past 6m, only to await your return.

And yes, dehydration due to boozing can be an issue... Always drink enough water, whatever else you are drinking in addition...

I was recently certified, and I am a current smoker (about 1/2 pack per day). I was extremely worried about this in the beginning, but quickly found that my fears were generally without merit. I didn't have any problems breathing or equalizing on any of my cert dives, and have several upcoming dives that I am not really worrying about.

Now, that being said, I am trying to quit! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to deduce that smoking isn't the most productive thing to be doing as a diver. On all my cert dives, I followed the advice given in my open water book... do not smoke 12 hours before diving. Commonsense thing that I have taken to heart, and will also be doing on future dives (until I finally quit). Nicotine gum worked really well for me to stop for an entire weekend while I did my cert dives.

In any event, since you have been quit for so long... you shouldn't have any problems.

As an aside, as others have said, you can cough and vomit through your regulator.

... I am trying to quit...
Good. It is hard. If you have a trusted buddy you can vent to it helps. Been there... :)
