Two Harbors Wine Festival - Sat June 10

All set.

Going over on Friday, June 9th. Staying in Avalon. Getting the shuttle boat to Two Harbors Saturday AM, gonna taste wine with my toes in the sand for the day on Saturday. Saturday night, its back to Avalon.

Sunday AM Jaye and I will be diving the park, then its home Sunday night.

Anyone else interested? We went last year and had the BEST time.

Shuttle Boat Avalon to Two Harbors (limited space) $25

last time they tried having a wine festival round these parts, local boys
broke it up with chains and baseball bats, and used the wine to cure
their chewing tobacco

Last year they had a Buffet cover band playing... OY

I "sampled" a LOT of wine that day...

The weekend also corresponds to a sailboat race from Marina Del Rey to Cat Harbor and back. The racers spend the night at Cat Harbor. After a bbq at the DRYC facility at Cat Harbor, everyone generally goes over to Doug's for the party. Between the wine festival and the race, it should be quite an event. Depending on how I do in next weekend's race, will determine whether I go over or not.

I mean, here's the scene:

Beautiful Summer day. In the sand, row upon row of easy-ups with comely people pouring fine wines. Walking around, taking notes, looking at hotties getting lit, a little wine, some water, more wine, some water, a couple of brats, etc.

Its great. Then the band starts. And the very worst part of all: they were really a good cover band. So the stuff sounded JUST LIKE JIMMY.

I was hating life. I would have glady traded a Beatles cover band for this one.

Or not.

But I did do a thorough tasting that day. Left my sunglasses someplace, however. And I remember leaving with only one shoe. That was weird too.

Buffet sux.

Ken- sorry to slightly hijack your thread. Funny how little time I spend at Two Harbors these days!
