I had a similar Suunto console - went to wrist mounted instruments after only a few dives with it. I found I wasn't able to track my depth and time sufficiently without referring to the console, which required a break in concentration on whatever else I was doing at the time (things like avoiding kelp and jellyfish :) ) Now my computer is on my (right) wrist, I can easily tell my depth at a glance, much as you would tell the time on a watch.

Hmm,
I've actually never used a console computer. I currently have a Sunnto wrist mounted as well. I know when I dive I am constantly looking at my computer, so this may be an issue.

Anyone else finding console mounted a problem?

I guess with this posted in 2 places you may get 2x the responses ;-)

I have no direct experience with TUSA gear. My impression of it is that it is entry level gear with entry level quality -- you get what you pay for.

Hi,
Actually there's 2 different questions posted in 2 different places - one for the a 3 guage console, the others for a 2 guage console and computer.

Any experiences with Tusa gear?

Darryl

I've been reading that some Tusa computers are really Suunto computers, simply renamed and sold under the Tusa brand. Is there any truth to this?

I currently have a Suunto that I'm happy with.
