has anyone stayed there? what's it like? would you recommend it? how long a drive is it to the good restaurants north of town?

I will Pm you when I get back.........I am going out right now.I own a condo right next door......Seabreeze condos,we are an affiliate property of Turtle Nest Inn.

John

I am interested in the answer myself....dont forget !!

Ok since two asked I will post in public.

The Turtle nest inn is a very quaint quiet inn with lots of "old World" charm,by that I mean the owners Alain and Marleine are always available and make sure that everyone is happy. They pride themselves on their customers being happy. The inn itself has either 8 or 9 rooms ,they also have 6 condos ( Seabreeze) next door which they manage (and you can use all the amenities of the inn) as part of the inn.If you stay at the Inn you will be treated to a quiet almost European atmospere with great Hosts. The snorkeling in the back is pretty spectacular last time I was there ( 3 weeks in January) we saw spotted eagle rays.southern sting rays,60 LB. tarpon, baracuda , 20 LB.mutton snapper, lobsters, many different species of reef fish, this is all in 3-6 Ft. of water inside the barrier reef. The best diving from there is at the East End which is 15-20 minutes away by car.I must say a car is necessary .Robinella you asked about the resturants if you mean the ones north of 7 mile beach they are about 20-25 minutes by car during normal traffic .There is a lot of traffic during "rush hour" going to the georgetown/ 7 mile beach area.Rush hour is typically 8AM-9AM then at 5PM -6PM.I am partial to the south side of the island to get away from the typical tourist/cruise ship crowd. When the cruise ships are in Georgetown can get very crowded.

If you would like any other info just ask.

John

Here is the Turtle nest inn's website.
http://www.turtlenestinn.com/

You can contact them through email or phone them. The contact info is at the bottom. If you want to look at the Seabreeze click on "affiliate property" then on "seabreeze".

If you like wall dives then you're in for a real treat. If you've never dived in Grand Cayman, do the north wall and west side sites first because once you get spoiled off the east end you won't want to go to the other areas. No crowds, only a few dive boats, very laid back and relaxing. You will love the east side of the island.

EastEnder, did Over the Edge reopen? That used to be a great place to go for a casual dinner.

Scubawife I don't think so.I will be there on April 19 again.I will check for you then.

Thank you for the insight. My wife and I are going there at the end of April and staying there, so I am all the more excited given the great things written above. As a new member to this board, I am very appreciative for the willingness of the members to add their thoughts.

jsgp if you would like any other info just PM me.Let me know when you will be there....I will be on island from April 19-30.I will be staying at my condo seabreeze #9.right next door.Just ask Alain or Marleine to point you in the direction.I am not sure where I am diving yet.

Thanks.....are the rooms AC'd? And, is there anything that makes the condos more appealing than the regular rooms.

Really appreciate your answers.

Rich the condos are AC'd and also they are duplex and have 2 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths, full kitchens .If you would like to see some pics of mine I will send them to you.The Inn is also fully AC'd.My condo is newly built,it was finished in January of this year.
