Hello, I’m looking for updated info on dive resorts and which specific island to dive from for my girlfriend and I’s trip to Turks and Caicos for the end of February. Dive Provo seems to be highly recommended but at the cost of long boat rides. Any better areas to stay to avoid the long boat rides and still see the best T&C has to offer? Would also like to swim with the whales one day since the timing lines up if anyone has any info on that.

Thanks!

The best way to avoid the long boat rides is to book on a liveaboard. You have your choice of Aggressor or Explorer Venture--they both visit pretty much the same sites.

Unfortunately neither are available the week we are going

My experience there was at the Beaches Resort. We liked the resort and the amenities. Diving is included and 2 dives in the morning or 1 in the afternoon and the rest of the day to enjoy the resort.

Grand Turk will allow you to avoid long boat rides. Humpbacks may still be there.

If you stay in Provo T&C. I advise you to dive with Flamingo DIvers. Jayne and mIckey are amazing. Hour long dives on the wall and 6 divers is the norm for them. The boat ride is 40 minutes ish and its very relaxing. I normally catch a nap on the way back in.

Thanks for the help everyone. Finally have everything booked. Flying into Provo and doing a 2 tank dive with Flamingo Divers followed by a trip to salt cay the next day for 3 full days of diving and whale watching!

Salt Cay is the best. Maybe pack a cooler and bring some easy meal/snacks with you as there isnt much there. You can even buy one in provo and duct tape it for the flight. Coral Reefer should be open for some meals and its pretty ok but I'd try to bring what you can. It's like going back in time, probably my favorite place. Enjoy, whales are showed up a week ago.

Hammerdown- where are you staying on Salt Cay?

Cornelixc- where do you stay on Salt Cay? We have been to Grand Turk twice for weeklong trips and for husband to dive with Blue Water Divers- I think we are going to finally try to go to Salt as it has been on my bucket list for years.... we had good luck with weather once at Thanksgiving time in GT- have you been to Salt in November? It is not about the whales for us- diving, beaches, snorkeling for me and just peace and quiet... would love any tips you have !!! thank you.
