Tuning your reg

I recently bought a sp mk25/s555 setup and it freeflowed pretty easily. I know that the s600 has the exterior tuning, but how do you tune the 555? Do i need to take it to the shop? Can i do it myself? How much can it be tuned and what does tuning do? Also any other info or hints on this setup would be great.
