Closest I have been to Tulum is Cozumel, and never been to Playa del Carmen or Cancun. Just wondering if there is any unguided shore diving available in Tulum area? If there is, can you see coral and lots of life, or is it like the pier at Scuba Club Cozumel which is mostly a sand pit with no coral (some cool animals to see, but not the coolest environment and small area)?

I wish Scuba Earth had a way to filter by entry type (shore vs boat) and also filter out cenotes -- lots of sites to click on. This isn't something I think I would enjoy, man-made: Kan-Kanan World’s Largest artificial-reef - Mexico | DiveBuddy.com

if you find any pls let us know. i have never heard anyone talking about any shore diving in that area.
