I'll be going to Tulamben this spring for just under a week. I've been before and I hope it is just as quiet and diving focused as I remember. I'm not looking for anything more than 3 dives a day and early evening cocktails. But I'll be going with my girlfriend and she maybe doesn't love diving as much as I do.

Are there any non diving things we can do/see in the Tulamben area. I'll have a motor bike and I'm sure I could arrange a car if need be. I'm looking for anything we could do for a day/afternoon. A picturesque temple, waterfall, cooking class, etc.

Any and all recommendations welcome.

Thanks.

Andy

You can go on a half-day outing to Pura Besakih and another to Tirta Gangga water palace along with its sister water palace Taman Sukasada Ujung. If you want something more active, you can go rafting on the Telaga Waja river near the Rendang village turnoff from the main road not far from Besakih and at the village called Batu Sesa.

1) You can visit a picturesque waterfall only 40 minutes drive west of Tulamben at a village named 'Les', a great walk on a pathway, you can shower under the waterfall. There is a young guide who live on the track, he will show you all of the fruits in the forest as well as entertain you on the way to the waterfall. Give him a small tip and you'll have a friend for life.
2) Book your girlfriend into Siddartha Spa (in Kubu village, 5 minutes west of Tulamben), this is one of the best spa experiences in Bali.
3) Walk in the foothills behind Tulamben, start at the tree's opposite the public car park entrance at the Liberty wreck, walk towards the mountain through the Kapok trees. at the end turn left and follow the track towards the mountain. Very nice views and a glimpse of rural life in Bali.
4) Hire a motor bike and drive from Amed to Amlapura along the coast road, one of the most scenic bike rides in all of Bali.
If you want to hire a driver to visit the attractions of Amplapura (Tirtagganga etc..) then contact Ricky at Tulamben Transport he will make your day tour lots of fun and interesting.
