Which is a huge part of the problem, zero accountability. The whole agency needs to be abolished, with it being replaced with a smaller agency that just regulates and tests the private contractors hired by the airports to do the screening.

What likely would happen is they would do a poor job of regulating and managing those contractors then we would be hearing about all the ex-felons or unvetted or foreign agents that contractors managed to hire. If they can't manage their own employees why would they be able to manage a 3rd party contractor's?

Public sector unions are the problem, they can't be fired except for the most grievous offenses. That is why they can be complete aholes.

I blame it on Amazon, as commerce has migrated to the internet many malls have been closed or reduced operations. This has displaced the mall security personnel to the TSA.:confused:
