The TSA is a big joke if you ask me. If bags and items can become stolen or missing while they were in the bowels of the airport then the security isn't really good. We all know a terrorist isn't going to walk through the front door and try to go through the metal detectors. Step one of any plan would be identification to infiltrate the bowels of the airport through a back door somewhere. Terrorists would get in the back door and through lax scanning methods easily and not even have to deal with these TSA people at the front scanners. All these TSA people are doing is making it a hassle for anyone to fly. It's no wonder I choose to drive everywhere. Wonder why the airlines are loosing money. It used to be you could jump on a plane and get anywhere in a matter of a few hours. Now it takes longer than that to even get through security. What used to be a few hour ordeal now turns into an all day event. Heck, I can drive to many places in a day and go through much less hassle and save money while doing it. My 90 year old grandmother just went through the full search because she has pins in her leg. It's amazing the methods TSA are going through to hassle good people just trying to get on a plane. The lines here in atlanta sometimes reach out the front doors of the airport and have over 3-4 hr waits to get through security, sometimes even longer. What a waste of time and money for something that wouldn't even stop an idiotic terrorist. The TSA is a "feel good" orginization that has no merit what-so-ever IMHO. Just another stupid homeland security program put into place to waste Tax Payers dollars for something that wouldn't stop anybody from getting what they wanted through security.

$1500 for cheese? sounds cheap to me, but what the heck is a "cheese display"? Gotta just look at it, not eat any?
(I come from a long line of cheesemakers, btw)
Hey Bob -

I think that the agency's budget was cut last spring, even tho the extra $10 TSA fee I pay on each ticket was not reduced. I guess they had budget money left over, that they felt they had to spend, or their next budget would be smaller? "Planned waste."

I have a strong hunch that the system will be streamlined around the first of the year. It was presented as a "solution" by the present administration, which cannot afford to admit to any problems to their creation until after next month's election.

After the election, and perhaps subseqent recounts, supreme court hearings, coin tosses, whatever it takes to settle the next one, the TSA will be not be a valuable tool for the current administration, or if will be a leftover dodo for the new one, depending on who gets to ride the DC parade In Janurary. Either can then scrape the bad idea. We can hope for improvement then.

Will my $10 add-on fee per ticket go down? Hell no! That's established income, that the politicians will redirect. I anticipate that the local airports will grab a piece of that, too, so the big wigs there can have lavish, albeit smaller galas! :party2:
