I've flown out of LAX with regs & computers before. Just let them know before hand so that they don't ask stupid questions and bring out the explosives detection swabs.

There was a TSA guy at Boise airport who looked at my stuff before I told him, and commented that "Atomic regs are good to go."

My UK Aquasun dive light tested positive on the explosive swabs. After explaining it was a flashlight, I was asked to describe the function of said flashlight without using its name in it's description. I promptly turned it on. They let me go with the battery packed separately.

I always carry the TSA notice on air cylinders when I travel with my spare air and they never look twice.

Just returned from a trip to Tahiti with two complete sets of regs with quick disconnect hoses for computers in my carry on bag. Put the bag containing regs and prescription dive masks through the scanner without any discussion with TSA operators. Went through without hesitation or question on both ends. Went to Bonaire in October with the same configuration and again, no problems or questions. I even sent my housed DSLR through the scanner in a backpack and they didn't question that either. Brasil in May, the same experience. All of these trips originated at LAX. They seem to know what scuba equipment looks like without opening the bags to look at it.

I flew out a few months ago from LAX with my reg and computer in my computer bag and didn't have an issue. But an acquaintance coming out of DEN had issues with (gasp!) a mask. TSA was freaked out about it for whatever reason. Very odd.

Had a flight attendent make me put away a wireless mouse once. Un-autherized transmitter and reciever in the cabin with the door closed. Had to use that damn nipple in the keyboard. But they never complained about having a hand held GPS tracking the flight.
