Hello. New to this forum and want to meet people who are interested in diving for rec purposes. I was certified some 12 years ago. It's been awhile since I've been, so I've done two spring dives to try to get re-acclaimed. However, none of my good friends are into diving, so am trying to find some outlets where I might be able to meet others to dive with.

Hiya Sharon! You found the right place! Welcome to ScubaBoard! Check out the Conch Divers Forum where the Florida divers hang out. The trips & happenings section is where the trips are located. Any trip posted is an invitation to join the fun!
If you are into beach diving, we do a lot of it here in the south. C'mon down!

Hi Sharon,

Welcome to ScubaBoard. When I started diving about a year and a half ago, none of my friends dove. To make matters worse, my husband doesn't dive. Hang in there, I'm sure you will meet some new friends that dive. I have met some wonderful friends through SCUBA that I would have never met otherwise (quite a few of these friends I met on ScubaBoard).

Take care!

Welcome to the board. Im sure you will find many ne dive partners. Dive safe.

Dive? Is that what this board is about? Really? wow... :D

Welcome!

You are certainly in one of the top states for getting back into Scuba, perhaps the #1 state for it. And you won't need the heavy suits they wear on the west coast or further up yours. It looks like you've already received referrals and invitations even to your local dive club there. :icon4:

Did you do a refresher course, or look into AOW & Nitrox training to get safely back into it? Be sure to follow this path here to our :newbie: forum: ScubaBoard.Com > Scuba Diving Central> New Divers & Those Considering Diving

Hi Sharon and welcome to SB. If somebody named Scuba Jenny talks to you and referes you to the conch divers...oops too late. You are one of them now.

Sounds like the clean-up activity you've got going on will be fun. Wish I had known about it sooner to take part. Thanks for the website link and invites. I've actually never done a beach dive, so might need to check it out! Sharon

Hi Ann Marie,

Thanks for the support! How did you meet fellow divers? Attend club meetings or through dive shops?

Just curious....
