Poor baby, that close to the ocean and can't get in......I would cry!

Don't cry...it's a lot better to be on the beach and happy than on the ocean and GREEN. Been there done that too many times.


There is an aquarium at Ft Fisher a few miles away. You can set by the big tank and do a dry dive with the sand tigers there. It's a lot more fun than being green.

Hey Trucker Girl--yep, we're blown out today--big seas.

But come back next time. We're in Carolina Beach, only two blocks from the beach, and surounded by fishing charter boats, so hubby would have lots of options besides sitting in a parking lot.

Thank you all for the great replies. We wound up renting a car (from Enterprise- they pick you up!) and going to Wrightsville Beach (closer than Carolina Beach). But if there is a next time, I'll know where to go!

The waves at the beach were really big- my husband didn't think so, but I got knocked head over heels twice while trying to ride them. I decided to just go a little deeper and skip the breakers!

A bad day at the beach is better than a good day at the truck stop anytime, imo!
