I am using a trusty Oly C5050 in an Ikelite housing, with dual D125 strobes and the TTL settings active, and I seem to have an ongoing problem with sand shots. Something like a sand diver perched on the sandy bottom tends to come out overexposed, and the same with a peacock flounder lying on the bottom. I can help this somewhat with post-exposure editing, but there has to be a way to get it closer with camera settings. What do you suggest? Woody

When shooting a suject on the sand it is easy to over expose the shot. Sand is very reflective, and you can easily over expose the shot before the ttl sensor can react.

A couple of things you can try are to shoot those shots using manual strobe settings, or you can aim the strobes away so that only the edge of the beam illuminates the subject.
