No local transmission of Zika, Chikungunya, or Dengue in the Keys. According to CDC it's not an issue there. There is a big difference between having reported cases from travel and having local transmission.

True, but there have been locally-transmitted cases in southern Florida in Miami-Dade County and they do have the Aedes aegypti mosquito in the Keys so that might be a bit too close for comfort although the chances are low.

Going to fly to/drive thru Miami/FLL to get there?

Florida 708/18

The first number is Travel Related, the 2nd Locally Acquired.

Might want to look at current statistics and probability. The Miami local areas (actually 2) are quite limited (mosquitoes fly no more than 500 feet during their lifetime) and the transmission has been contained with heavy spraying. There has been no local transmission in some time.

The chances of getting bit by any mosquito in an air conditioned airport and air conditioned car while traveling no where neare the proscribed areas is infinitesmally small if it exists at all.

Also, they are planning a release of GMO mosquitoes in the keys to wipe out the Aedes aegypti and spraying like heck in the meantime. I seriously doubt that CDC would give the keys a clean bill of health if there was any serious posibility of contracting Zika.

I agree that liveaboard diving in the Red Sea might be the good choice in April and Red Sea Aggressor is the good option also. Kindly note that their special offer is valid only till November, 30th. Among the boats which provide divers with high level diving and comfort are Blue Seas, Blue, Odyssey, Blue Horizon, Scuba Scene. So many options :) They offer interesting trips for certified divers and I'm sure you will be satisfied with your diving experience if you choose any of this boats.
