following the tropical depression that devastated Honduras.

What tropical storm and what devastation? What did I miss?

The Bay Islands lie 30 miles North of the mainland, if a weather incident occurred there, it might be a different matter locally.

The Bay Islands are ready for vacationers. If there were issues of damage, likely your cruise ship would park somewhere else. It's fine. Walk off the ship, ask to see the bestest dive spots and finest shopping. Have a ball for eight hours!

While I was there 2-3 weeks ago during the tropical depression scare at least one cruise ship bypassed Roatan, as chance would have it the tropical storm made a sharp turn inland instead of its projected path of skimming the coast between Roatan and the mainland. The result was a little extra rain activity and wind for a few hours during the night of closest approach, if it had followed the projected path things might have been a lot more "interesting" given we were in a house only about 2 feet above sealevel.
